Dhagandey Is The King, Oggy Is The Surprise

Dhagandey is the King of Maldives as he is awarded the Best Player Award, Oggy(Mohamed Jailam) surprised everyone as he was chosen as The Most Promising player.

Dhagandey(Ali Ashfaq) is no stranger to Maldives Football Awards nights. Dhagandey wins the Best Player Award as well as The Top Scorer Award.

In the colorful event, Dhagandey was chosen by coaches and captains of Premier League clubs and others as the Best Player in The Maldives. Scoring 42 goals, Dhagandey won the Male' League with New Radiant before moving to TC Sports and winning the Premier League for TC Sports. Overlooked by the National team, Dhagandey does what he does best, finishing the season as top scorer. Dhagandey's coach Nizambe(Mohamed Nizam) won The Best Coach award winning the Premier League with TC Sports.

The surprise of the night, no doubt is Foakaidhoo's Oggy(Mohamed Jailam). Scoring seven goals for the seventh placed Foakaidhoo, nineteen year old Oggy debuted at the age of sixteen, playing for BG Sports in the Premier League. The Maldives Under 19 Captain also had unsuccessful stints with Eagles and Victory before moving to Maalhos Sports Club. Foakaidhoo signed the youngster after qualifying to the Premier League and the rest is history.

Oggy was also among the goalscorers for 'Jooley Award- The Goal Of The Season'. Hampu(Hamza Mohamed) won the goal of the season award beating Oggy and other decorated players such as Ibrahim Mahudhee. The Maldives International beat five players before scoring the 'Goal Of The Season'.

Best Foreign Player was awarded to Cornelius Stewart of Maziya Sports while The Best Goalkeeper was awarded to Kiran Chemjong of TC Sports.

Aminath Firusha was awarded The Most Promising player as Fadhuwa Zahir won The Best Female Player award. 

Veteran referee Malla Lhathuthu was awarded The Presidential Award for his services to Maldivian football.
