The Grande Amigos New Generation Sports Club, in sort, the G.A.N.G has announced open tryouts for their youth team. Announcing about the youth team trails on their Facebook page, the post players who are interested are welcome to be part of the club as they are getting ready to start their first ever campaign in Maldives top flight.

The G.A.N.G SC will be competing in Dhivehi Premier League season for the first time as they got promoted from second division after winning the second division title.

It will be a two day tryouts. G.A.N.G tryout will be going on, 10th January, Thursday and 11th January, Friday at FAM turf ground.

The format for the Youth Championship changed last year. This year's youth tournament was carried out as an under 19. Making the following youth tournament as an under 21, FAM wishes to provide the opportunity to this year's youth players to play in the coming year. And FAM will be carrying out this format (under 19 once in two years, and under 21 in the following year) in the following years. Eagles the most successful youth club in the Maldives lost out to an impressive Green Streets last year in the final match.

Last two years there have being a noticeable drop in the numbers of participating teams in youth level. Only 4 teams compete in the last two youth tournaments.

 Other than this, it is also believed that there will be a significant rise in the numbers of competing teams in this year youth championship. 

Club Eagles, Club Green Streets, New Radiant Sports Club and the debuting side into youth tournament, Foakaidhoo Football Club, Maziya Sports and Recreation, all has already began their preparations for the upcoming youth championship. Meanwhile visiting side from atolls, B.Eydhafushi is continuing their preparations in their island ground.

This year’s FAM youth championship is to kick off on 3rd February.
