Coach Fareedh as Victory youth team head coach
Dhivehi Premier League FAM U-21 Youth Championship Victory Sports Club da grande

Coach Fareedh has been appointed as the head coach of Victory youth team ahead of the upcoming FAM Youth Championship.

After a 2 year absence Victory Sports Club is to be back in the youth tournament. After a change in the managerial positions of the club, the new leadership of the club aims to bring the club back to its former glory. The club has won a record number of titles (21) after being found in 1971 but has shown weaker performances of late which includes their finishing the last season in Dhivehi Premier League in 8th position with 10 points losing the majority of the matches. The last silver wear the club won was back in 2012 at the youth championship held that year.

Meanwhile Coach Fareedh attained AFC-B coaching license and played an important role in guiding DA GANG to the first division last season. DA GANG will be playing top tier football for the first time this season and the season is set to start in June after a change in the format of the Dhivehi Premier League.

The youth tournament is set to start this February 3rd and is hoped to bring some amazing footballing action with it. The format of the tournament was changed last year with under 19 tournaments being held once in every two years (under 19 tournament was held in 2018, and will next be held in 2020) and under 21 tournaments to be held the following year, meaning this year it will be an under 21 tournament. The format is set to be followed for the upcoming years.

Victory is the last club of the 9 clubs participating to start their trainings for the youth tournament.
