Tonight’s game which was an important fixture in how things will stand in group B ended with eagles winning over Maziya.

Maziya came into the game on the back of two back to back defeats, first against United Victory and then unexpectedly against Eydhafushi. Meanwhile Eagles came into the game with their 100% record intact. The game started and carried on with both sides battling each other out from time to time. Overall Eagles were the better side playing and their goal came from Mohamed Azumoon at the 74^th minute. That sole goal of the game meant the match ended 1-0 to Eagles with their man Husaain Faisal winning the man of the match award.

Now Maziya is eliminated from the tournament after a strong winning start against the defending champions Green Streets and then going on to lose three games in a row. Meanwhile the winning side of the game, Eagles guarantee their spot in the semi-finals.

The final group stage match day will be this Wednesday where the evening game will showcase the favourites for winning the group battle against each other. Green for a spot in the semi and Eagles to maintain their 100% run. Its last year’s final all over again. If Eagles manage to win with a big goal difference, the night game will be an important one for Eydhafushi and United as they can then battle for a chance in the semis. To go level on points with Greens but try to eliminate them by scoring more goals. Its all to play for in group B.
