Inter School: Hinnavaru School and Aminiyya power their way through on matchday two
Inter School Football Towards Future

Today’s Mamen U-13 Inter School Football Tournament showcased plenty of drama as Lh.E.C beat Jamaluddin which was followed by the thrashing of Muhyiddin by Aminiyya.

A pretty stale game saw Lh.E.C beat Jamaluddin late afternoon. The game kicked off pretty dominantly by Lh.E.C and they scored in the 11th minute, courtesy of Abdulla Misaal Mohamed. That was all the goals for the first half however, Lh.E.C showed a more dominant display with more ball possession with them. The second half was started a bit better by the blues, but with time the tiredness of players was taken as advantage by Lh.E.C as their Abdulla Azaan Ahmed and Mohamed Isaam Moosa scores two quick fire goals in the 45th and 48th minute respectively. The game ended in that score of 3-0 in favour of Lh.E.C.

The second U-13 tier game saw Aminiyya thrash Muhyiddin in a 9 goal thriller. Aminiyya started the game with pure dominance and they pounce on the Muhyiddin goal in the 10th minute, courtesy of Mohamed Jood Ashfaq. What followed that goal was a pretty dry spell which lasted till the last three minutes of the half as two quick fire strikes from Aminiyya’s Mohamed Ziyan Ahmed and Hussain Shaihaan Ibrahim in the 27th and 30th minute saw them increase the lead just before half time, mounting pressure on the Muhyiddin side.

The second half was started even more strongly by Aminiyya as they struck two minutes in, in the form of an Izman Ibrahim Rasheed strike. They pounce on in the next minute again as Asraan Abdul Rahman scores the 5th goal of the Aminiyya side. In the 38th and 39th minute another two quick fire strikes by Mohamed Jood Ashfaq and Izman Ibrahim Rasheed saw the Aminiyya side kill all the hopes of the Muhyiddin team. However, Muhyiddin fought back strongly and Ayaan Bin Yaugoob Adam’s strike ended any hopes of a clean sheet for Aminiyya. After that goal the game carried on pretty level for a time as both teams went head to head. But it was Aminiyya who had the last laugh as Ahmed Meekail Mohamed scored in the last minute and they grabbed all 3 points.

This win puts Aminiyya on top the group table which is followed closely by Lh.E.C. Aminiyya was the underdog team of the U-15 tier of the tournament as they survived the group of death along with Majeedhiyya. Their U-13 side even seems to be pretty strong.
