Today’s fixtures of Mamen Inter School Football Tournament held newcomers to the tournament Huravee against Imaduddin which was followed by the match between Thaajuddin and Rehendhi. Unlike the past two days of this age group of the tournament, not much goals were seen today.

The late afternoon fixture between Imaduddin and Huravee was expected to weigh heavier on the Orange Army for a win due to Huravee’s weak performances in the U-15 tier. However, their U-13 side showed a better performance despite losing. The game began with high intensity football from Imaduddin, pressing the Huravee side which was showing a very defensive play. The first half despite Imaduddin’s efforts went pretty dry. The only goal of the half came in the when Hussain Hamdhan of Huravee saw yellow in the 19th minute as Imaduddin was awarded a penalty. The spot kick was converted with ease by Mohamed Shaffan Abdul Muthalib the next minute.

Imaduddin started the second half more keen on scoring more goals and they were successful in their intention as Ahmed Aahil Adhunan netted the second Imaduddin goal, nine minutes into the second half. Despite conceding in the early third of the half the Huravee side were a much more improved side than they were in the first 30 minutes. They managed to get one back in the 53rd minute, courtesy of Ash’ham Ibrahim Mohamed.

The game that followed that Imaduddin match ended with honors even for both sides. Both goals of the match were seen in the first half. In the 14th minute Rehendhi struck courtesy of Abdul Awwal Mauroof. The intense game saw both teams go head to head. Raain Hashim struck Thaajuddin’s equalizer six minutes before halftime. The game went on to end in the same scoreline of 1-1.

That group is now lead by Imaduddin as they won vital 3 points. They are followed by Rehendhi and Thaajuddin with a point each. Kalaafaanu hasn’t played a match yet so they lie in fourth place with no points and 0 goal difference which is followed by Huravee with no points but a -1 goal difference.

Tomorrow will hold group D fixtures of the U-13 tier which will be followed by Ahmadhiyya against Ghaazee in the U-18 tier of the Mamen Inter School Football Championship. Stay tuned to Boalha.mv for more updates on the tournament.
