Inter School: Imaduddin and Thaajuddin gets away with last minute winners

Today held four teams of the five team group C side against each other in the Mamen Inter School Football Tournament. The late afternoon kick off featured Huravee against Thaajuddin which was followed in the evening by a battle between Imaduddin and Kalaafaanu.

Taking a look at the sides in the afternoon game, the Thaajuddin side came from a draw against Rehendhi meanwhile Huravee lost to Imaduddin. The first half was kicked off with pure dominance by Thaajuddin with an intense style of attacking play. This lead to a spot kick being awarded to them in the 3rd minute which Abdulla Rizan finished with grace. The half then went to end in a pretty dry fashion.

The second half began and a much more improved Huravee side came into show scoring four minutes into the half, courtesy of Shammam Sameer. After that both teams went head to head as the clock was ticking and a win was essential if any side are to go further in the competition. A loss could possibly increase chances of Huravee being knocked out of tournament as well. It was in the 58th minutes that a goal was then scene and that came in from Yoosuf Nayyan of Thaajuddin. The goal won them the essential three points.

This game was followed by Imaduddin against Kalaafaanu. A game which was pretty balanced as both sides played almost equally well. The winning goal came in at the last minute for Imaduddincourtesy of Hassan Amaan Zahir.

These results now put Imaduddin on top of the group C table with 6 points while Thaajuddin follows them closell with 4 points in second. They are followed by Rehendhi who has a single point. Then in fourth is Kalaafaanu, a side which still has three more games to play but has lost a game. Then in bottom are Huravee who has a higher chance of being knocked out than go forward in the tournament.
