Will we see Imma this time around?
Imran Mohamed(Imma) Retired

Up until now, our number 1 keeper has been none other than Imran Mohamed (Imma). His retirement from the national team left everyone of the Maldivian football family at a loss. It saddened us all who love football deeply to see his swansong for the national team. But his career still hasn't ended. And we are yet to see if he will continue to play for the clubs of our nation.

He hasn't signed up for any clubs after the suspension of New Radiant SC last season.

Talking to Boalha mv, Imma says that he is at a crossroad, whether he will continue to play or not he doesn't know, but he is certain that the love that was once for football in our nation is diminishing. Furthermore, he pointed out with remorse that the stadium is almost barren now, while matches are played, supporters are not found their anymore. The fire that once ran in the blood of Maldivians for the love of this sport is starting to run cold.

He has served our national team for a long 17 years. 37 years old, he has almost spent 1/3 of his life serving our country. For a person who has loved the sport so much, it must be grievous to have noticed what he is seeing.

Moreover, Imma also said speaking with Boalha mv, that there had been some informal discussions with clubs but nothing too solid. And he also said that any club which offers him an opportunity, he will not look them down but consider every chance he is given.
