Foakaidhoo FC striker Hassan Nazeem Gassim(Choatu) has been named under 19 National Team captain.

Choatu recently capped in the senior national team against Guam also played for Maldives under 23 team last season. The Foakaidhoo player is a regular starter for the Minivan Championship side since signing for them last season.

Choatu has been named captain ahead of the SAFF Under 19 Championship game against Nepal on the 20th of September. Maldives will play against Bhutan on the 24th of September. Two teams will qualify in the three nations group. The two best teams will play the semi-finals against best two teams in group B. India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in the group B of the SAFF Under 19 Championships.
