Asian Football Confederation has awarded 'Bronze' membership to Maldives and Palestine Grassroots programs.

Maldives has given utmost importance to youth development and grassroots programs under the leadership of FA President Bassam Adheel Jalil. According to the AFC, Maldives meets all the conditions required to be awarded bronze membership. 

"It identifies 20 performance categories, such as grassroots competitions, fairplay, partnerships and personal development, which have all been met by FAM and PFA respectively" 

Maldives has made development a priority under the current regime. With the slogan #TowardsFuture, Maldives has been active in trying to move football to atolls creating centers of football development in the atolls.
