Maldives National Team currently camping in Malaysia has been hosted by the Ambassador to Malaysia, Visam Ali. 

The Ambassador met the Maldives team in Marhaba Restaurant in the Curve last night to give support and encouragement to the team. 

Maldives are in Malaysia to prepare for the joint World Cup-Asian Games qualification match against Philippines. Philippines have already upset the favorites China in Manila and are set to upset the Maldives. Maldives so far hasn't had the best campaign losing at home to 0-5 to China and 1-2 away to Syria. Maldives won their opening game 1-0 against Guam away from home.

The team however are in good spirits and are set to win the next two home games against Philippines on the 14th of November and against Guam on the 19th of November in the Galolhu National Stadium in Male'.
