OPINIONS: It's Sad To See Effort By FA and Government Is Wasted By Segrt
Maldives Ahmed Rizuvan Ali ashfaq Hassan Nazeem Gassim Mohamed Faisal Petar Segrt

Today we see another disappointing performance from our national team. It's been days since we have been preparing for this game.

When we heard of this game, we made plans to dock in Male' today so we can watch the game and leave Male' celebrating. We are here because we want to see our best players play.

I saw that the brochure that Ali Waheed held had a big picture of Dhagandey. I was expecting him to play. After brilliant performance against Syria, can you blame me? Anyway if Segrt replaced him, it should be for a good reason. However what we saw in the first half was a good display from midfield and defense. In forward line we dominated but we lacked someone who was strong, who wasn't afraid of the huge defenders and someone who supplied the fast strikers with good balls from attack itself.

We didn't see that. Second half substitute Dhagandey and Dhaadhu was very effective. but by then we were unsettled. Our midfield didn't have a clue. Even though we conceded two goals, for the very first time in a long time, it felt like we are not missing Imran Mohamed. Yes for me Faisal was the best.

Faisal saved a crucial penalty in the first half

And the boy from Dhiffushi(Ahmed Rizvaan-Rizey) only gets fifteen minutes? Isn't he like the best player from the Premier League? And we thought we will see the boy(Hassan Nazeem Gassim- Choatu) that Segrt says is as important as Dhagandey.

It is very sad to see all the effort and all the spending from Ali Waheed, Ahmed Mahloof and Bassam Adheel Jalil is being wasted on this man(Segrt). Clearly he doesn't like our best players. Clearly he is buying himself time.

...and the funniest thing is, he came to the supporters after the game and said that he will field a completely different side against Guam. More youth! Is he serious? Instead of building up from this game, is he going to change everything again? I wonder who he will blame in the interview(Press Conference).

If this man is in charge, it is unlikely that we can come from so far away just to see his experiments. Our National team used to be our pride. I hope we find someone who understands that. Who understands that we were not an easy side to beat in Galolhu National Stadium.
