Maldives could not convert their dominance into goals. Riham Abdul Ghani(Bobby) perhaps missed the best chance of the game in the second half. In the dying minutes Ibrahim Mahudhee also squandered an excellent chance for the Red Snappers. Brave performance from Sri Lanka playing with a man down, Sujan Perera was kept on his toes throughout the game.

Bhutan Leads the table after beating Bangladesh earlier today. The league leaders will play against Nepal in the first game tomorrow. In the second game, Maldives will play their second game in twenty four hours as they meet Bangladesh. After India withdrew from the tournament, Maldives the SAFF Champions are the favorites to win the SAFF Games Men's Football Gold.
