Former national team defender said that he is optimistic that he will gain extra knowledge working with a foreign coach. Sampath, one of the best defenders Maldives has ever produced works with Maldives Soccer Mates Academy at the moment. Sampath lead Green Streets under-21 squad in 2019. Former Lagoons and New Radiant defender worked as assistant coach to Oscar Bruzon Barreras in 2018 winning Male' League

"I had an excellent working relationship with coach Oscar at New Radiant, and I intend to keep learning" former Maldives national defender said talking to BoalhaMV.

Sampath said that he will do his best to make the players better technically and tactically, taking them to the next level.
