Maziya knew that a draw would get them through to the intercontinental semi-finals meanwhile for last years finalists Bengaluru had to get three points keep their hopes alive and that was what they did thanks to superstar striker and skipper Sunil Chhetri.

The first chance of the game fell to Bengaluru FC in the 5^th minute. Vineeth sets it up for Alwyn to flash across goal but no Bengaluru player met it.

A later minute Maziya got their first chance Yasfaadh shot from outside the box but his shot was wide of the target.

Despite Maziya sitting back and defending it was the green boys who got the better chances to take the lead.

The best chance of the first half fell to Maziya in the 17^th minute. Ali Samooh’s deep cross was met by Rakic who’s header from the penalty spot hit the bar.

In the half an hour mark after silly back pass from Bengaluru defenders Yasfaadh Habeeb fired a shot from outside the box. But goalkeeper Amrinder matches yasfaadh’s shot with a brilliant save.

Six minutes later Irufan fired a thumping shot from a long way out. But once again it was Amrinder who kept the blues in the tie.

The second half began with Bengaluru attacking impressively and soon got the all-important goal. Skipper Sunil Chhetri scored from a free-kick on the edge of the box. Despite Pavel Matiesh last ditch effort to save it he was unable to do so.

Marjan sekuloski’s side faced major difficulties after Captain Asadulla Abdulla was substituted due to injury. This meant that green boys weren’t able to attack the way they wanted without their top scorer on the field.

Soon after Maziya got a glorious chance to level things up at the fortress but Ashad Ali failed to do so. Adey failed to stab home from inside the 6 yard box into the back of an empty net after Rakic’s wonderful run.

Maziya kept pressing hard in the last ten minutes for the equalizer but couldn’t do so. Despite going down in the fortress against last year’s finalist Maziya put on a brave display throughout the game.
