Noonu Holhudhoo turf ground has been completed and is ready for opening. Minister of Sports Ahmed Mahloof said the work has been completed and it is achievement for all people of Holhudhoo. 

The turf ground was funded by the government and the sub base work was carried out by MNDF welfare company SIWEC. The installation of the turf ground was done by AMIN construction. 

The government has planned to complete 100 turf grouns by the end of the term and 15 turf grounds are to be completed in the next five months.

Footballing infrastructure in many Islands has been poor and the FA is working with the government to improve the facilities in the islands to develop football. 

Many of the upcoming youngsters are from Islands and teams representing Islands in the league have done well.
