Manchester United are prepared to spalsh the cash on Harry Kane after it was revealed that Kane wants to leave London and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is ready to cash in on the want away star. Kane threw more uncertainty over his future earlier this month, insisting he would not stay at Spurs for the 'sake of it'.

News of his receptivity towards a potential move to Old Trafford may serve to encourage Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to launch an audacious swoop for Kane who is desperate to sign a proven goalscorer for his side.

Signing the England captain would certainly represent a statement of the club’s ambition and the fact Kane would be interested leaves the path open for United. Traditionally, United have a history of signing the continents leading talents and the England international is unquestionably one of the best central strikers in Europe.

Commercially Kane’s capture would have potentially lucrative benefits for United given his position as England captain which has been extremely appealing for United chief executive Ed Woodward. 

Tottenham's £200 million price could well prove a major road block and there is confidence at the north London club that no club will get close to their valuation during what is likely to be a subdued transfer window due to the coronavirus crisis.

But if the past has proven anything it is the fact that United are more than capable of forking millions for who they want. Last summer they forked out £80 million for Harry Maguire while they also splashed £45 million on Wan bissaka.
