FIFA plans more tournaments in South Asian region

FIFA and AFC has discussed to increase the number of football Tournaments in South Asian region. 

The discussion was held on last Thursday via video conference. 

The meeting was joined by FIFA presdient Gianni Infantino, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and the presidents or officials from seven Staff Nations. President of the Maldives Football Association (FAM), Bassam Adeel Jaleel aslo took part in the meeting. 

After the meeting Bassam tweeted that it was a "Productive and informative discussion with the president of FIFA, president of AFC and Presidents of SAFF region."

During the meeting FIFA announced "FIFA Covid-19 Relief Fund". Td

The discussion includes, improvement of women football in the region, to increase club level tournaments, to increase senior national team and other age group tournaments in the region. 

As of now FIFA is conducting only two competitions in South Asia, which are South Asian  Games and SAFF Championship.
