Maziya urges Authorities to Resume Practice

Maziya Sports and Recreation Club urges Government Authorities to make arrangements for their senior team practices to resume as soon as possible.


Maziya said that they need enough time to practice for the upcoming 2020 AFC Cup group stage matches which are scheduled to be played in October and November.
Maziya and other clubs are unable to conduct their regular practice sessions due to heavy spread of Covid-19 in the Capital City Male’.


As a safety measure, Maldives Health protection Authority (HPA) suspended any sports event or team practices until further notice. However Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is engaging with HPA to make arrangements to resume football practices as soon as possible.


Since Maziya is gearing up for the remaining group Fixtures of 2020 AFC cup, they have been trying to restart practices aiming  to achieve higher than any other Maldivian Club reached so far in AFC Cup.


Both Maldivian clubs, Maziya Sports and TC Sports Club are in the Group E of the AFC Cup. India’s Chennai City FC and Bangladesh League Champions Bashundhara Kings are the other two clubs in the Group E of AFC Cup
