Maldives National Futsal team competing in the Futsal tournament of the 5^th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, was beaten by Afghanistan in their second group stage match by 6-1.

Afghanistan was 2-0 up by the end of the half time, scoring goals in the 1’ and 22’ minutes of the match. They scored 4 more goals in the second half in the 25’, 29’, 33’ and 35’ minutes of the match. Khamedi Hussein (jersey no. 6) and Kazemi Akbar (Jersy no. 10) scored two goals each for Afghanistan. The only goal for the Maldives was scored by Ahmed Ali Rishwan (Jersy No. 5) in the 38’ minutes of the match

The futsal matches of the 5^th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games are held in the Multifunctional Sports Venue of Ashgabat of Turkmenistan.

Maldives lost its first group stage match to UAE by 3-1.

Maldives Futsal team would play against Uzbekistan today in their third match of the tournament.
