In a joint project by Da grande amigos new generation football club of second division and Football company Assistencial of brazil, an International Football Academy has opened up in B. Eydhafushi island by the name of “Da Grande Assistencial International Football Academy.”

The academy was opened in August 2017 and currently have around 100 kids from the ages of 5 to 18 years enrolled. With two foreign coaches from Brazil and Spain with UEFA pro license, and a local coach, the academy has practice sessions 3-4 times per week depending on the age groups.

The main aim of the academy is to provide kids in the islands who are interested in football the same opportunity and facilities as in Male’ to improve and harness their footballing skills. Currently very few islands have football academies compared to Male’ which has a number of academies to choose form. To achieve their aim, the Academy hope to focus on islands with large populations to begin.

B. Eydhafushi has a rich footballing history in Maldives, creating a number of talented players over the years as well as, Eydhafushi team doing well in past National tournaments.

The academy hopes to open up even larger academy is Hulhumale’ by October 2017. Kids who are interested to join their Hulhumale’ academy can register now through their Facebook page for which link has been provided below. The Academy also informs that registration forms would be available in Hulhumale schools from October on wards.
