New Radiant won a hard fought match today against Thinadhoo to end round one as the league leaders. In this evenings match, New Raidant started brightly and made it count by scoring their first goal in the 15’ minute. The goal was scored from outside the area by Ruiz Paz Angel L (jersey No. 6) of New Radiant SC. With the goal defecit, Thinadhoo pressed forward in search of an equalizer and scored their goal in the 37’ minute by J.I. Caicedo R. (jersey No. 28). The goal was scored from a header by a free kick crossed into the penalty areas by the experienced mid fielder Ahmed Niyaz. The first half ended with the score line on 1-1.

Second half started with key changers to both the teams. New Radiant brought on experience midfielder Ahmed Fazeel (oppo) and Thinadhoo brought on forward Ahmed Rizwan (rizey). With both teams creating chances to win the match in the second half, it was the blues who took the lead for a second time with Gallardo V. Adrain (Jersey No. 9) scoring what eventually became the winner in the 69' minute. Both teams created more chances in the final few minutes but was unable to add to the score line.

With the result New Radiant end the first round of the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League with 18 points from 6 wins and 1 loss. Thinadhoo ended the first round with 10 points from 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw and sits at the fifth place of the point table.
