Today in the Football Association of Maldives 3rd Division 2017, Buru Sports Club has gained their first three points from the group stage after a 3-0 win against Super United Sports. Today evening in FAM #1 Turf ground, the match was kicked-off 25 minutes late due to issues among match officials.

As this year’s 3rd division allows each team to include maximum four foreign players in their respective squads, Buru Sports entered the match with two foreigners while Super United was 100% local.

During the first half of the match, in the 13th minute Lio Kohei scored first of the match and took the lead for Buru Sports. Seven minutes later Ismail Hussain made it 2-0 Buru Sports.

After the break, both team brought in fresh players in to the game. At the 55th minute during former Club Eagles player Ihusan Ali showed a brilliant piece of work beating Super United defender and goal keeper and scored his first giving his side 3-0.

Ihsan appeared in Eagles jersey for few times during this season very beginning. He was caught eye of Eagles as he delivered an amazing performance in the Minivan 50 Championship for his island back in 2015.

Buru Sports Club is led by the legendary and the former national team player, Assadh Abdul Ghani, “Gold Captain”.

Tournament matches being played in the FAM Turf 1 ground and Henveiru ground. This year’s tournament kicked off with total 39 teams, which were divided in to 10 groups. As a tournament format, there will be first the group stage round from which the top two teams from each group will forward to next round, which will be a knock out stage round.
