Adey quits as National Team crisis deepens

Ashadh Ali (Adubarey) has retired from the National Football Team only a few hours before the AFC Asian Cup qualification fixture against Bhutan.

Adey was the captain when Maldives lost to Singapore in a international friendly and has captained the side on many occasions during the unsuccessful Asian cup qualification campaign.

Ali Ashfaq was announced as the captain of Petar Segrt’s side but has since been dismissed from the National team for failing to attend a press conference.

Adey was the player who attended the press as Ashfaq failed to join and spoke to the media about the game.

Early today national team coach met with players and Adey did take part in the meeting but has since announced his retirement. Sources claim that Adey and national team coach Segrt could not come to terms on the decision of  the treatment given to Ali Ashfaq.
