UNDER 16 INTER SCHOOL: IMADUDDIN SCHOOL INTO THE FINAL!

In the ongoing Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018’s, in under 16 age category, Imaduddin School has advanced into the age group final.

Imaduddin School secured the last spot in the age group final after making a good victory over K.Guraidhoo School in the second semifinal match today evening. Imaduddin won the match by 3-0.

During the first half of the match, regarding to first 10 minutes of the match, it was Guraidhoo boys who stepped into the game much faster than the Imaduddin oranges. Guraidhoo school found two good chances to get an early lead. Both chances came from set plays. In the 3rd minute, a free kick from the left side of the pitch, just outside of the Imaduddin box, J.No#5 of Guraidhoo School put a good cross to the far post which was brilliant won by J.No#11, who was totally left alone and his heading directed the ball to left top corner of the goal. And the ball was saved by the fingertips of Imaduddin goal keeper.

Again in the 5th minute, Guraidhoo was served with a free kick. This time just few steps away from the Imaduddin penalty box and more in a central position than the first one. Once again J.No#5 of Guraidhoo School placed the ball well into the box and his team mate almost got a touch of the ball. But it happened referee signaled the attempt of another Guraidhoo player inside the box to win the ball as a foul to goal keeper as he went to collide with Imaduddin goal keeper.

It was seen that the orange army side soon realized the threat they going to receive from there on the pitch and improved their game in a short time and got into the game well. Since then, Guraidhoo was seen giving little worries to Imaduddin defense line every time the ball goes on attack. But Imaduddin defense line dealt with it very well.

In the 18th minute of the first half, Imaduddin came close to score a goal. Ahmed Raisham went to one against one situation with Guraidhoo goal keeper and he was supported by his team mate, Ibrahim Ilhan Ismail, who was all free on the right side of him. But it was little late for Raisham as the ball was well kicked away by Guriadhoo goal keeper brilliantly.

In the 21st minute, again Imadduin found in a good situation that they can score a goal. A beautiful            one-two play between Ahmed Raisham and Ilhan Ismail put Ilhan in a very good position to score a goal but Ilhan was found unlucky at the moment as his last touch was too heavy.

Imaduddin scored took the lead in the 26th minute from a chance they got as a corner set play was not defended well. Ihan Ismail played the corner short to his captain, Ahmed Samaah, who placed the ball long into the box. Guraidhoo goal keeper punched out the ball with confident as he was not troubled from any one. The ball dropped outside the box and Guraidhoo players’ reaction to the situation was little slow when J.No#5 Ahmed Anoof from Imaduddin School placed the ball again into the Guraidhoo penalty box. The ball quickly collected by Ahmed Raisham and he passed it well to Ilhan Ismail who was positioned at the near post. Ilhan placed the ball into the far post. Meantime Guriadhoo goal keeper was out of his position. By Ilhan’s goal, Imaduddin took the lead of the game, 1-0. And match went with the unchanged score line of 1-0 as first part of the game ended in favor of oranges.

During the second half of the game, at the 42nd minute, Imaduddin scored their second. Guraidhoo side was unable to clean the ball placed by Imaduddin J.No#11, Shawin from a corner. And Raisham took the advantage of the situation as he scored and double the lead making it 2-0 in the score line.

Last 15 minutes of the match was played under the rain. And Imaduddin was displayed as much superior side all over the pitch. Third goal of the evening came in the 58th minute. Imaduddin J.no#8, Waris Ibrahim made his name into the score sheet as he scored oranges’ third goal with a low driving shot from inside the box.

Imaduddin School won the match by a good 3-0 score and orange army side now marches into the last fight of the battle, the age group final. As Imaduddin enter the final of the age group without a single defeat, they are the only side not to concede a single goal. They have kept 100% clean sheet.

With this win Imaduddin will be playing in the age group final against Iskandharu School, who won the first semifinal match against Ahmadhiyya International School on penalties.

It is the first time since 2015, Imaduddin School will be playing in a inter school final. Back in 2015, Imaduddin under 16 side was runner up of the age group as they lost to Muhyiddin School in the final by 2-1.

Final match of under16 age group is set to kick off on 23rd April evening, between Iskandharu School vs Imaduddin School at Henveiru Ground.
