Green Streets earn huge three points
Club Green Streets put five goal past Valencia as they moved to sixth place in the Male' league standings with eight points. The green dragons are now two points away from the top four. Today's win was largely important for Green Streets as they keep their hopes of qualification to the Dhivehi league alive.
Former Green Streets gaffer Sobah Mohamed had a daunting task as his side looked to get the better of their Machangoalhi counter part. But Valencia were without a win as they came into today's game and the sun-risers chance of making it into the top six of the Male' league and gaining a spot in Dhivehi league looked wayward.
Seven minutes into the game Valencia's already mammoth task became strenuous as Adam Imran fired Green Streets into a early lead.
Six minutes after the hour mark Roland Rasel Bilala fired home to make it 2-0 for the greens and three minutes later full back Samdooh Mohamed made it 3-0 for Green Streets.
Ibrahim Rizuhan scored in the 80th minute to make it four as Valencia hopes of a top six finish disappeared away. Five minutes later Rasel grabbed his brace and made the score 5-0 to rub salt in the wound for Valencia as Sobah's men suffered a massive defeat.
speaking after the game Green Streets boss Ali Suzain said he was delighted that his side finished the first round among the top six. He also added that his side now have breathing space after feeling the pressure of not picking up points.
Club Valencia boss Sobah was less than impressed and took out on the Green Streets supporters who chanted at him during the game. He said the supporters of his former side showed no respect. Sobah added the fact that he was the man who took Green Streets from the second division to the top flight and said he deserved some respect.
