Maziya beat Eagles 1-0 to start the Male' League 2017.

Maziya controlled much of the first half, with Eagles going for quick counter attacks. Eagles looked the more dangerous side.

Early in the second half Ansar Ibrahim started a move by beating two defenders and passing the ball. the small combination play saw vice Captain Mubeen's pass tapped just out by Ansar. A quick counter Attack by Maziya after this incident got Asadulla Abdulla the chance he was waiting for. He made it one nil.

Eagles dominated much of the second half, came close to equalizing.

Asadulla Abdulla had a chance to double the lead for Maziya but reliable goalkeeper Sujan made an excellent save.

In the dying minutes substitute Sayid (Ramos) had a chance to level the game for Eagles, his header came off the bar and just a few inches above Sameeh's head. The game ended 1-0 to Maziya. Asadulla Abdulla (Asako) was awarded the man of the match.
