Ismail Easa better known as Messi has been appointed as the captain of Victory Sports Club.

The vice captains are Hassan Adham and Rilwan Waheed.

Messi who signed for Victory after a disastrous season in Maziya has already had a very successful spell in Club Eagles in 2015 as captain. Messi was nominated as one of the best players in the Haveeru awards in 2015.

Hassan Adham's goals helped Valencia win the FA Cup last season. Adham (Sadey) played alongside Easa in 2015 for Eagles, is one of Maldives most feared wingers.

Rilwan (Riley) Waheed was Victory Sports Clubs captain last season. He has more international exposure than the Easa and Adham. Arguably the player that saved Victory from relegation last season. Riley signed from New Radiant Sports Club in the mid-season transfer window. Riley is an experienced right wing back who can also operate in center back and center midfield.

The Captaincy was warded to the players by Victory legend Mauroof Ahmed (Maattey), one of the most successful coaches in Maldives. Victory Sports Club held this ceremony on Maatey's birthday. We wish Maatey and Victory Sports Club all the best.
