FAM Grassroot coaching course held in Addu City

Football Association of Maldives has concluded another coaching development program. This time in the second most populated city of the nation, Addu City.

Football Association of Maldives’s grassroot coaching course was held from 9th of this July to 13th July. Yesterday the course was wrapped following a kids football festival held in Addu City Zone Football Stadium where huge number of kids enjoyed the game along with the newly certified grassroot coaches.

In this FAM grassroot course, total 18 coaches were certified, including seven female coaches. Instructor for the coach was FAM coach, Ahmed Shareef (coach Dunga), who holds AFC grassroot instructor license.

Grassroot project is a FIFA initiate to develop personals to help to guide and develop kids within the game. Grassroot coaches mainly will be guiding players from very early age to 12. Every FIFA member nation is bound to hold such courses and carry on developing technical personals within the nation. Therefor FAM has being conducting numbers of courses to develop technical personals. Recently FAM held AFC “C” license coaching course for women coaches.

Under the heading of FAM long term development program “Towards Future”, to build a new generation in nation football, FAM is not only focusing to develop players but also the technical personals too.
