No place in the squad for Dhagandey (Ali Ashfaq) as National Coach Petar Segrt announces the National squad.
National coach Petar Segrt has announced a 30 man preliminary squad in preparation for the SAFF games to be held in Bangladesh.
Dhagandey the all-time top scorer of the SAFF Championships as well as the 7th highest active national top scorer in the world has been dropped for the SAFF Championships. It is not clear if he will be considered for national selection later on. Dhagandey the top scorer in in almost all competitions since his return from Malaysia, is clearly still the nation’s top striker and the most expensive footballer in Maldives.
Segart started preparation in the national stadium today with his assistants Ahmed Shakir, goalkeeper coach Aslam Abdul Raheem and two foreign coaches.
Maziya provides the national team with most players. eight players from the Green Boys make it into the squad followed by Eagles and New Radiant with six players each.
