Nepal knocks out the hosts Bangladesh in the shock of the tournament so far.

In the final group match of Group A, Nepal beats Bangladesh 2-0 to top the group and book a semi-final berth.

Bimal Magar scored from a free kick in 33rd minute for Nepal. Bangladesh relying mostly on crosses. Nepal has anticipated Bangladeshi attacks were not satisfied with the third place, which they were in when the game began. Nepal defense was organized and their counter attacks were quick.

Nawayug Shrestha doubled Nepal's lead on the 90th minute to seal the fate of Bangladesh. 

The win takes Nepal to the top of the table with 6 points, same as Pakistan and Bangladesh. Nepal has a 5 goal difference, while Pakistan has 3 goal difference. Bangladesh has a difference of just one goal. Bhutan meanwhile has no points.

Nepal qualifies as the winner of the group and will play against the second best team in Group B, while Pakistan will play against the Group B winners. Semi-final places will be confirmed tomorrow after the last group game of the SAFF Suzuki cup where Maldives will play against the high flying India team
