Dhivehi Premier League set to resume today after a two month break.

In today's first match, Thimarafushi will play against Nilandhoo at 1600 hours. Vital match for both the teams to come out of the drop zone. The bottom two teams will not play in the second round of the Premier League. A win for either will see them raise above the 8th placed Foakaidhoo FC. BoalhaMV predicts a win for Thimarafushi.

In the second match of the day, Maziya will then take on Victory at 2100 hours. Maziya is one of the under performers of the season and are yet to hit form. Victory in crisis could be the break Maziya is looking for to kick start their campaign. Victory has parted ways their coach and have not started training even since the two month break. If Victory show up at all, Maziya will have an easy Victory according to our predictions.

The match of the week, New Radiant V TC is tomorrow evening at 1600 hour. Clash of the giants, New Radiant does not have the edge anymore after losing both their start man Ali Ashfaq and their coach Oscar Bruzon Barreras. Sobah Mohamed has replaced Barreras and New Radiant are in good form just two points behind TC. BoalhaMV predicts a TC win though as TC has more firepower now with Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey), Ibrahim Mahudhee and Ibrahim Waheed.

In another crucial clash Foakaidhoo plays Fehendhoo. A win for Fehendhoo will see them raise to the top half of the table and condemn Foakaidhoo to the bottom two. BoalhaMV predicts Fehendhoo will win by a small margin as they beat Thimarafushi earlier in the season.

On Friday, high fliers Greens Streets will play against Club Eagles. Green Streets have been performing much better than their counterparts though Eagles would like a revenge for their Youth Championship defeat earlier this month. We predict a Green Streets win though.

The league went on a two month break due to SAFF Championship and the damage to the field due to the 26th of July function held in the Galolhu National stadium. A lot of teams have voiced their frustrations over the clash of fixtures that has caused financial problems. The extension of the league has been a problem with the Independence day celebration that damaged the field two years in a row.
